Ditto on the leatherworks!!! Been on my rocker for three years. Its my main travel bag. It has long straps and top side extentions that fold in (cant be seen) that extend up when you want to overload it. I bought a waterproof hiking compression bag to put my gear in, keeps it bone dry and at the end of the days just pull out the bag to take in your room.
I am tough on my stuff, travel a lot and the bag is like new almost.
Comes in three inch width and five inch width. I have the five and it sticks out no more than my primary. Good luck and ride safe.

 

plus it's a few months old. so you bitch at people for starting new threads, then bitch at them for doing a search and commenting to bring it back up. classic

 

Just don't get the stock HD bag. I use mine every day: it's a vacuum cleaner for water in the rain and the straps are failing.

 

Had one on my Fatboy Lo before I sold it and it was great. It's for sale in the Classified section.
