Default 88" hydraulic cam conversion upgrade

For those of you still running 88's or have in the past......

Im doing a cam conversion on my 02 Heritage to the (07 & later) hydraulic cam plate with Andewrs 21n cam.

Ive read all the threads i could find. Im using the parts list on the Andrews web site, with one exception.....I bought the #62400004 Screamin Eagle oil pump. It was cheaper than the stock oil pump (#26037-06).

Is there any reason why this #62400004 Screamin Eagle oil pump would not work for this conversion with the STOCK (07-later) cam Plate #25358-06??

The reason Im asking, is that i just came from the dealer to get some gaskets. The parts guy suggested that this pump would not work because it would cause varying oil pressure. Im not sure he understood what I was doing, because he was trying to sell me the Sceamin Eagle billet cam plate at $500.

I just called Andrews, they are out till Monday.

Has anyone had any experience with the upgrade and this pump?

Thanks for chimin in!

Can't say for sure, but I've done this upgrade in the past without any issue on the regular 06 (07 touring/softail) and later oil pump. I don't know if the SE pump with work with a non Se oil plate.

Good luck!

The parts list on the Andrews website is not complete unless they have recently updated it. PM me your email address & I will send you a complete parts list if you are interested.
From my reading on another forum a guy said he used screamin eagle pump 62400001 on your application

I'm not sure myself but this is my next mod/upgrade. When I do it though I do plan on using the entire SE upgrade kit.

I have read several posts on various forums where people have claimed to use the SE Oil Pump #62400004 with the standard '07 up cam plate with no issues....

2nd hand info to be sure, but you can search and see for yourself. Then decide if the posts seem credible..... personally I believe them, can't see how it wouldn't work..

Check with Bob woods if you want a roller chain conversion kit, its all there - pushrod wise there are options - stay with stock or go adjustable. the upgrade through woods is not cheap - but a huge difference for the better!
