I never updated this with my night time impression.
The light is great at night time. I was riding on a 6 lane freeway recently with no one else in front of me, and this thing lit up from one shoulder to the other. The light pattern is very wide.
that looks awesome! I had put up a post about wanting to do the fat bob dual headlights on my slim but didnt get much response. Would a project like that be somewhat easily done for my bike?
I put these lights in my stock Fat Bob headlight and they are awesome. However I did not want to lose my low/high beam option. I found a cheap and easy fix, while still using both lights with the stock switch.
Wiring a 10 ohm/10 watt resistor into each light from the low side. In doing so, when the low beam switch is turned on, the power that the light receives is blocked by 10%. It works great and its an easy way to pass inspection. I purchased the resistors from radio shack in a two pack for $3.00.
Just found this thread, and I know its a little old, but I wanted to bring it up and ask a few questions. First, what is the benefit of using the aux lights vs the daymaker for the Fat Bob, is it just cost? I like the black of the aux lights vs the daymaker silver, but was curious. Also, the ring you had custom made, I see that Kutter has a mounting ring (68355-05) do you know if it's the same thing. And lastly, there was talk of making these "kits" anyone actually make that happen?
