I had to tighten my shocks to full stiffness so that I wouldn't bottom out over big bumps in town or pretty much most bumps on the interstate. That was at 240. I had them adjusted back then so now that I'm down to 190 I couldn't tell you if the ride would be any better at stock damping.

I'll spend the $80 on the dead creek setup but if the $14 ones are just as good then I'll get them and keep saving for the shotgun shock. And another question while I'm here lol... What's the difference between the progressive original kit and the drop in kit other than the obvious about not needing to disassemble the front shocks. Should I spen the extra couple bucks and not need to disassemble or is it not worth it.
The Dead Creek is easier to install. With the bolts you need a press or other improvisation (I used my lift, a metal fence post, a book, a 2x8, a door handle drill bit, and my garage door header) to disassemble the shock. I just used the "drop in" for the front because I had no reason to disassemble. If I was changing seals or powdering the lowers, I probably would have done the other. Despite what the install video shows on the Dyna, the install for the softail is not so drop in.

rode it about 35 miles today. you can tell there is a lowering kit on there. stiffens it up quite a bit but there is still some suspension left
