Default How do I remove wax from

How do I remove wax residue from the black wrinkle finish in my engine? I tried bug and tar remover with a toothbrush. It looked good while it was wet,but worse after it dried.

Dry stiff brush, but not so stiff it scratches. worked for me when I first bought my bike. Now I'm very careful about how close that wax gets. I'll even tape off the black now......

Some use a tooth brush and WD-40 on the area then just spray the whole engine down and start her up or pig spit

Light brush and Dawn dish soap. Dish soap is great for removing wax.

Try Prepsol and brush lightly with a tooth brush. Wipe off with a rag, wash and use the back to black. Wax is a petroleum product and it takes the same to remove it. Prepsol is used in the auto paint business for removing oils and waxes prior to paint. Won't hurt the black..

I had great success with olive oil removing wax from black textured plastic parts on my truck.
