I like it. The only thing I think it needs to really look like an old school is a different rear fender. But then again I have always hated the HD rear fenders with the tail that flips up.

Completely agree. the bob tail kills the flow. I am thinking a RSD 9". Got to save up the $$

So you think the 'fake centerpost' has no importance structurally to the engine stability or to the frame?

I really does not. It is just a stamped piece of sheet metal rolled. The bottom has no strength or integrity, just a couple holes punched through without any reinforcement. It would not hold any weight.

Absolutely not a structural piece. It's sole purpose is to provide a mounting location for the coil. As was mentioned above, it's stamped sheet metal.
