Si.ilar issues on the rocker...but i get around 7 k miles usually...3k is low...i have run metz, dunlop ans a very scary veerubber. Both dunlop and metz, same mileage. Way better prcing on dunlop...both ride the same.
Stay away from veerubber, delaminated halfway thru tread life...never have seen that before...could have ended badly...

On the 2nd tire, I have lowered my psi to 36 and this did well on the Memorial Day run to the Wall with and without a passenger. I have already logged ~2500 and it looks like, with reducing to 36 psi, I may make it beyond 3000 miles before I have to shell out another $374 for the third tire in less than a year. At $374 (installed), I am looking for a different tire instead of the HD Dunlop that will offer the same performance and stick, but get more miles; THOUGHTS???
That seems really low. I changed the dunlop on my 13 Breakout at about 15,000 miles. Switched to Metzeler and I'm at 23,000 miles now . . .estimating I can go 5,000 more before a change. Hope so, going on a long road trip.

What air pressure do you run? And what total weight, rider and gear, do you usually have riding on the bike?

Yep - same deal for me too. My 240 on my Breakout went 4K and I ride very easy and always had the recommended 42 psi. I asked other BO owners with higher mileage and they said they run around 36, so I think that is the difference. When running 42 you can see the very narrow wear in the dead center of the tire. So I just bought a 250 Dunlop Elite on-line at Dennis Kirk for 170, shipped. 35-36 from now on.

Well....when I bought mine, I had them put a new tire on it. It is on order actually. Someone had test ridden it and smoked the rear tire bad. Great, I know. There was an inch of rubber under the rear fender.

The stealer tried to say "oh that tread is normal, that is how these tires are". I said BULLSHIT, take a look under the rear fender.

So as part of the purchase they are installing a new one when it comes in.

To the point, you should be getting much more than 3-5 out of one.

I need to find my last post on Tires,,,,,I got 6500 on my rear tire and had some life still but was going on some big runs and wanted safety first. When I saw that my tire was wearing like yours in the center I lowered my rear to 30 psi and the front also. I'm sure that is why I got up to 6500 plus before changing it out. I still get nice ride and now I can see that over 75% of tire is on ground and wearing ok. Try lowering to 30psi go in some dusty roads so the tire shows what is on ground and see what you think. You can always take it back up.. Good luck. Have a safe ride.

I have about 6,000 miles on my stock tires...the front looks practically brand new...the rear one will need replacing in the next 500-1000 miles id guess.

What psi do you run on the rear?

Hey SC, Have you noticed any wear issues on your front tire such as uneven wearing to the left or right of the center-line? My front tire right side has noticeably more wear than the left side (right of center starting from about 1/4 away and is an is approximately 1 inch wide) . I don't feel any issues with steering or handling, but this is not normal wear pattern. Just noticed it the other day when I got it ready to start riding.
