Default Bassani Road Rage - short meg vs long?

Hi,

I'm wanting to get a road rage pipe but not sure what the real world differences are between the short meg and the long version?

Mainly from a sound perspective? as I guess they would both perform well.

Thanks for any feedback.

Default Bassani

13bob,
went out and got my Breakout on July 3rd. Installed the Bassani Road Rage
short pipe. I prefer this over the long version because it cleans up/ opens up the back tire.
Was a bit concerned about it being to loud. Not the case. It already comes with what Bassani calls their quiet baffle. sound great to me and barks when you crack the throttle! Installed easy and has a great fit and finish.
I went black over the chrome Version.

Looks only, we have the long on our '12 Heritage as the short would be below our bags.

I've got the long version on my 2013 Heritage and I think it looks the best for my application. My wife rides frequently and she prefers the longer version. Had short slash cuts on a previous bike and after an hour or so of riding the short ones began to make the ride less pleasant. I might consider this if you're gonna be 2 up very often.

I agree. The short version looks great on your breakout because the rear wheel is so nice to look at. For my heritage it's not so important to see the rear wheel.

I was also wondering what the long version sounds like compared to the short. I have only heard the short, and it sounded pretty good.

Hey Joe. I don't do much 2- up so I don't have to worry about the pipe annoying my pillion.

How would you describe the sound of your pipe? I've only heard the short version in person.

I have the long megaphone. I just think it fits the Deluxe better.

Thanks. I love the sound. Not as loud as thunderheader, but roars pretty good at 2500 and up. Took this yesterday. IPhone mic recording doesn't do it any justice.

Here's our Bassani 2-1 long pipe:
The first one we did and the second one is from the Bassani web site of our bike, they used it for fitment testing.
