Early April and it was on her bucket list. Thinking to myself I could not say no to her and having ridden a Yamy 350 many years ago, I said a guy who works for me has a SG with a seat for his wife that looks like a couch. Then she said, no, I want to ride my own. ( just like the snowmobiles ) ( she has never drove a bike)
She got us signed up for the motorcycle class at the collage, and off the the Harley dealer we went. We sat on all the HD's they had in the new and used area, and decided on a 09 XL1200L for her and a 04 Haritage Classic for me. With my HD wing man in tow we got the price we wanted.
We both loved the class and the wife did vary well.
Had the bikes delivered and on a Sunday, after the class we 'played around' on the bikes.
After about 6 weeks of riding, we have had many firsts. Really riding, going 55 mph , and really getting to know the bikes.
I love mine, and the wife's new line is 'easy breezy' :-)

I have found the forum has great info and will be posting in the days to come.

Ronder and Dande
-----------

Dande road the Sporty for 2,000 miles and traded it in (200 less than we paid for it) and now she is riding a 2011 Deluxe with 6,000 miles.

I see she's no dummy... started on the Sporty to get you hooked, then jumped on an '11 Deluxe... Good for her!

Same with mine, ride her own Harley. Now she's my best riding buddy. She even likes stripped-down bikes and traveling "old school", the way I did years ago, except that I'd sleep under a tarp draped over the bike instead of a tent.
She did spend one rainy night under a tarp bungeed between the bikes though, and enjoyed it.

Welcome to the forum. My wife used to have her own bike for years, but after 2 shoulder surgeries she doesnt have the strength to handle it. I really miss that, but she is a good back seat gal. Cherish every ride, ure very fortunate.

Very cool! Enjoy your new hobby together and most importantly, keep the rubber side down.

That's awesome for the both of you! My wife and I got into Harley together and we ride together but I am the rider and she's the passenger and she likes it that way. It is really cool when you and your significant other can enjoy motorcycles together. My wife is still in her twenties and love our Softails as much or maybe more than I do.

Dande---

So glad she/we got into riding. Our longest day ride so far, with her on the sporty has been 330 miles. Down the Wisconsin and up the Minnesota side of the great river road from the Twin Cities to Winona. We were smiling the whole trip!
