Default best cam to cool off a 103ci Softail Slim?

wife is so short, the back of her thigh rests on the oil tank cap, and that cap is HOT...

i know she needs a tuner (planning on a PV-2)

but from reading, it seems the EPA compliant cams are to blame for most of the heat, and the only cure is to change out the cams.

it's been a cool summer this year...mostly in the low 90's, but she still cant ride comfortably with the rear head & oil tank being so hot

V&H short shots, HD spikey forward pointing breather, and a SERT tune from the dealer.

I have a breather, pipes and a Thundermax. My Slim does not seem hotter than any other air cooled sled I have owned. In fact it runs cooler than a few of them. May need a tuner to help it richen the mix and run cooler.

Get a 2 up seat that moves her a couple inches off the hot spot. Its never going to run that much cooler to make it comfy for her touch or almost touch any hot parts for a period of time. An added benefit to a real seat for the passenger is her comfort which in turn makes her happy, she will be relaxed when riding, wont have to hold on for dear life.......all of which you benefit from: icon_clapclap::icon_ clapclap:ask me how I know But by all means get your cam, tuner, and pipe. Andrews 48 will be highly recommended by fellow forum members, along with a couple others.

A proper Tune will help the bike run cooler but the oil tank is still going to be hot, around 200 F. Your solution is a "Captain Itch Crotch Cooler". Google it. Well worth the money.

My wife is 5'2 and rides the Slim. We purchased a Captain Itch Crotch Cooler and it seems to help a lot.

Btw, their customer service rocks!

A cam with some overlap and a good tune. a jagg 6 row side mount cooler would help.
