softail 1999 rear wheel 180-60 16 to 18 conversion
Gentlemen, I have a total custom Softail 99 style running 180/60-16 x 5.5 rear wheel with belt drive (mid-usa frame for 180/200) . I'm considering converting to an 18 x 5.5 rear wheel. I had to modified brake for rim clearance and assembly is a nightmare just to change brake pads. Was suggested to run 18 inch rims.
Questions: To maintain 180 what aspect ratio should be used to maintain circumference close to that of the 180-16. What tires are recommended. Any suggestions, comments welcome.
