Nothing like that on my 08. I have the factory security with a Siren II I added later.
My guess it's a add on for auxiliary lighting.

That thing is definitely not stock from the factory. Where do the wires lead to?

Edit: it just hit me. That thing looks a lot like the control for those LED accent lights that Kuryakin sells. Check under your gas tank and around the frame of the bike, you might find some of those accent LEDs stuck on there with double sided tape.

I installed those on my wife's sportster last year.

Given the proximity to the part which folds out for the passenger seat, and the small size of that seat, maybe it turns on a warning light on the dash to let you know that your passenger has fallen off.

Thanks Alain, that's it!! Two sets of wires lead to led lights under the gas tank, and two to the battery. Now I just have to figure out why they don't come on?

Found a short at a inline fuse holder! Switched it out and now have 6 killer looking red l.e.d.s illuminating my red Rocker C......Thanks to the Forum
