Default start 08 FLSTC without key fob

I am fixing/modifying a 2008 anniversary edition softail. It came from the insurance company without a key. Its unlocked. Can it be started(just to test) without a fob? My 06 Roadking starts without a key but this one when I press start nothing happens(lights, turn signals, horn works). Want to make sure it starts without key or not before going any further into diagnostics!!!

Yes you can by pressing the two turn signals at the same time and entering the pass code. Trick is knowing the code and I doubt you do. On mine I had to take it to the dealer for them to read the code.. After that I was able to start it and also change the code to what I wanted. You're gonna have to find the code first..

I have been told that the codes from Harley start out as 1 1 1 1 1. Then you change them for security.

When I was trying to figure out what my code was I found out those codes you mention depends on which dealer the bike came from. The dealers use about a half dozen different codes. You can try them and you might get lucky, but on a used bike the chances are the code was changed. If your bike still has those dealer codes in it, I'd change it because that's the first thing a thief is going to try.. Just say'in..

Pitbull is right.. I've had to learn how to do this bc I tend to forget my fob when I switch jackets. It'll start in the garage bc it's close enough to the fob and it'll run as far as I want to go without the fob. But when I try to start it up again, away from home, that's when I realize I've forgotten my fob.

The turn signal thing works but you'll have to know the code. Also, I think there's a way to disable that entire security feature so you don't need the fob ever.

The TSM/TSSM is 68925 which I believe is a TSSM. When I push start nothing happens except the signals flash. It has a dacota digital speedo on it.
Am I better off buying a used TSM(68920-07), and then marry it to the ECM by one hour manual procedure? Taking the bike to the dealer would be pain since I am doing lot of work including painting etc.
