Default I dont care what you think!!!

I'm not trying to start a "What's the best oil" debate, although those can be hilarious. Just sharing my experience. So after putting 2500 miles on my 09 Rocker since I got her a few weeks back, ( now it's 6700 miles) I decided to change out the HD 360 that was put in by the dealer before I got her, and get some synthetic pumpin thru,I decided check how much cooler it would run if any as I have seen many posts saying It might. I heated the bike up to 145 degrees and went for two identical 25 mile 40/45 minute rides two days in a row with the same outside temp. of 84/85 degrees, and checked the temp upon returning after two minutes. Here's what I found, keep in mind HD 360 had 2500 miles on it for what it's worth. Temp. was taken with HD digital level/temp gauge.again not giving my opinion about Royal Purple, (other than to say the bike did run noticeably quieter with it)actually went to Napa Auto parts planning on trying Red Line but they only had 1 quart. Mabel next time... I think I might test a couple others the same way if I remember which is not a given.... Any body done anything similar ....Like to see the numbers.
HD 360
229 degrees
ROYAL PURPLE
222 degrees

yes, my old 88 only uses 2.5 quarts, so yeah no question, spend the extra $4 and run the best oil available. thanks for the test.

This boring thread should be in the oil section.

Let it die.

You're getting too technical. 37,000 miles on my '09' and I buy what's on sale.
