Default Mixing tires

Can you put a Dunlop American Elite tire on the rear with the Dunlop D408 on the front? I have a good tire on the front and need to change the rear tire. Would like to try out the American Elite but do not feel like throwing out a good front tire.

I ran a Dunlop front with a Commander II rear for a while with no problem. However, I did notice a huge difference when I went to the Commander II front. Some tires play better together than others.

Yep, IMO. There's a very recent thread that talks about mismatched brands too, if you're interested.

I've got a question for ya. I have the same set up as you did and when my Dunlop wears out I will also be replacing it with a MC2. I am curious about the changes you felt between the Dunlop front and the MC2 front, thanks.
