The last time a dealer touched my bike was to install a new front tire. Now I only go to an Indy if needed, I do as much wrench turning as I can. Anyways, I asked the dealer to leave the hubcap off. They gave me some bs that the hubcap is a spacer and wouldn't leave it off. Haven't had a chance to research it yet so I don't know if they were being straight with me or if another spacer could be used. But yes I agree, looks better off.

I had my dealer put a new front tire on last month. 100 miles later, it makes a scraping sound all the time. I have it up on a jack and spin the tire, scrape scrape scrape. I can hear it as I slow down. Dealer says it's just dirt on the disk and will go away. Not sure if I believe them. I don't hate the hub cap, but I didn't realize it was collecting crud.
This has been happening to me too!! Been trying to figure it out. Didn't start till I get a new tire! Never thought about the hubcap!

After I was done installing my tins after a paint job, I heard a scraping sound coming from the front wheel. Long story short, it was the inside of the front fender barely touching the tire at it's widest point. I just pulled the fender out barely enough to bend it a little so it doesn't rub the tire.
