Default What is the deal with Biketoberfest?

This event seems almost 'non-promoted' this year. No web site, no calendar, no schedule of bands and other activities... the only thing is a facebook page. Is this a death knell? Is it still going on informally? (Main Street Station is advertising their bands but with no schedule of when they will play) No list of vendors... no "the usual spots". etc.

What... is this event's weather so much better than Bike Week's that Daytona CofC doesn't want the competition?

Not sure of why it isn't being promoted, but heading down on the 9th. from Mass.
(yes we are trailering) 7th. time for me. Like it much better than the March rally. Better weather a bit less crowded, and a bit more skin as the weather is better. (did I mention the weather is better?)

We'll be there and maybe it will be less crowded with no advertising...yeah right. (Ha Ha) Been going for a few years and it's the same as any other rally but the weather is just starting to get perfect!

I posted the same question on their "facebook" page. One comment from someone else and all of a sudden it disappeared from the page.

You can scroll through about 50 ads and try to piece together what is happening and who is where and when but no thanks... Looks like Rossmeyer's is acting like they are sponsoring the whole thing.

There's a website - it's right here.

Also, there's this resource.

No, this rally isn't going away.

Thanks. Didn't look on a >bikeweek< site for a biketoberfest calendar.

Went to the second one earlier... it has nothing about this year's event. One of the things that made me wonder.

No problem!

Yeah, the same folks that put on the Spring bike week put on Biketoberfest, so they share the same website. As you can see, there's a full schedule. Nothing has waned - in fact, it keeps getting bigger.

As for the jd biker maps site, I haven't really looked at it in the last few months - I just had it bookmarked. It sucks that he hasn't updated it.

You know, maybe he's lost interest in updating that site. No rallies have been updated, and the last one I remember seeing current was Sturgis this year.

Hmmmm
