raleigh area roll call
#1272
IMO anyone.... from Dreamer.... to the newest person, can... and should... post a ride....
While this thread is "Raleigh area roll call" there are folks from the Triad, to the coast... from the VA line, to the SC line.
Lots of ground to cover, and lots of folks have their own idea of what is a good day of riding
just pick a date.. and a location... give it a whirl
me?? I have a 'bad tendency"to stretch a 45 minute ride, into a 3 hour cross country tour...

Seems like most of my riding is commuting to work, about 80 miles round trip. When I do get a chance to just ride it is often a spur of the moment I'm going for a ride type of thing that can last an hour or so. If I do know I have an open day to ride then sometimes it becomes a flip of the coin on the direction kind of thing.
Wouldn't mind meeting other members on here sometime.

Ok skootch, I meant senior that you been on this forum a long time, nothing negative meant. But get your point. I'm not the setting up a ride guy, don't know enough of the good roads. Looking to tag along on a ride with someone who knows where there going. So I,ll wait for someone else to give it a whirl for now! Thanks.

Have you contacted any of the riding groups in your area?
there are a LOT of groups...
Organized groups such as
HOG, Ray Price, Durham,Rocky Mount, and Goldboro (that I know of... probably more)
Southern Cruisers Raleigh, Five Points(Fuquay), Jordan Lake, Johnston county
Retreads
The political groups (motorcycles, not D/R) Concerned Bikers Association
Religious groups Christian Motorcyclist Assn.
Ad hoc groups see meet up.com ... there are Just a bunch of bikers, and a dozen or so more (I can't keep up with them)
What ever you decide....I suggest meeting them, and going along on a ride or two... even riding with different chapters, and see which one is a good fit for you.
I've heard groups left a rider behind at a break, because the rider parked on the other side of the parking lot, or was in the bathroom...
Some groups only stop at bars... some avoid them
Some groups adhere to the "we all ride together"... and some adhere to the "if you can't keep up... stay home"
