The dates for the 4th Annual SW Forum and Green Chili Run are:
JUNE 13 - 18/19
This year we're going to start the ride where the original Green Chili get-together all started in Taos, NM. On Saturday, June 13th some of us will begin to arrive in Taos around noon. We'll spend the afternoon of that first day visiting the sites in and around Taos (there is always alot to see in Taos).
On Sunday, June 14th those who have arrived by now will head north and ride the Enchanted Circle in the Sangre de Cristo mountains and return back to Taos late that afternoon.
Monday, June 15th is the official first day ofthe ride. We've planned it this way so those who are coming far will have a full weekend to get to Taos.
From Taos, the plan is to travel to the Rio Grande River Gorge Bridge, cross it and take pictures of the group. From there, we'll ride north to Colorado, possibly stop for a short hike up to the Sacred Shrine in San Luis, the Oldest Town in Colorado before heading north to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. From here we'll head over La Veta Pass and catch I-25 to Pueblo where we'll spend Monday night.
On Tuesday, June 16th the group will leave Pueblo and head south on I-25 to Colorado City & Hwy 165 and then turn north through the scenic Wet Mountain's. We'll stop for 1/2 hour at Bishops Castle (one man on a mission built this castle rock-by-rock all by himself) and then we'll head north, passing the Federal SuperMax Prison (no, we can't stop to say hi to the UniBomber!) to Canon City and the Royal Gorge Suspension Bridge. You can ride your bike across the bridge (over 1,000' high), take a tram over the gorge or a rail car to the bottom. We'll leave the Royal Gorge about 3:00 p.m. and ride 2.5 hours west on Hwy 50 over Monarch Pass to Gunnison where we'll spend Tuesday night. Last time we were here the local restaurant had a big run on Rocky Mountain Oysters and cold Coors beer!
From Gunnison on Wednesday morning, June 17th , we'll head west on Hwy 50 to the Blue Mesa Dam and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. After this stop we'll head west and then south over the San Juan mountains, crossing Red Mountain - Coal Bank and Molas Passes with a stop in Silverton. The Million Dollar Highway is regarded as one of the top three highways in Colorado and this will be a special ride! We'll spend Wednesday night in Durango.
On Thursday morning, June 18th we'll head west on Hwy 160 to Cortez and the Four Corners Monument(where Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado all come together). The stop here represents the last official, planned event for our group. Those heading back south to Arizona will want to leave from here while those traveling to other locations may want to spent Thursday night in Farmington.
Rules: NO rules except for clean, honest fun! Anyone can join and ride with the group. You can jump in or out on any day you'd like. Our goal is to not have any ride longer than 250 miles/day (we learned our lesson two years ago).
Hotels: Bill Nourse and I have been working on finding the best deals for the group. We sure won't be staying in palaces but they won't be dumps either! As of this date (2/16) we are about 90% locked up on locations...check back shortly.
Each year we've met some wonderful people, made some lifelong friends and shared some beautiful sites. We hope that everyone who reads this thread can join us in Taos, New Mexico!

Reason: Update ride information
Well, the ROT Rally is the 11th-14th of June and we already have plans to go there.... We will discuss it this weekend, but it doesn't look good.
BTW Steve, I finally put the windshield you gave me on the bike. I like the height and wind protection better than my Clearview, but I don't know so much about the smoked tint. I think I am going to order a Cee Bailey's in either a 14" or 15" clear....
I know, I know! It's not a done deal yet, but getting the time off will be tough. I don't remember when Carol's vacation time is either. She had to bid on her vacation time last year.
We let you get away with cancelling last year. Don't even think of trying it this year.
I will meet you in Albuquerque on Friday night and we can ride to Taos via the "High Road" on Saturday. This will take us through Madrid, where a lot of "Wild Hogs" was filmed, as well as some other real nice scenery.

If I make it, I wouldn't be able to leave Texas until Sunday afternoon or Monday morning. I could possibly meet up Monday night or Tuesday morning, depending on where y'all are. Hmmm.....
