Default Green Chile 2015

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 2007 a group of 42 HD Forums members got together and rode all the paved 10,000' passes (22) in Colorado in 5 days. Whiskers and I are thinking about doing the ride again in 2015, probably late August. You can see past Green Chile rides in the Southwest section of the forum.

We will be looking at 7 days for the ride, and the trip will cover most all the good Colorado Motorcycle roads. Silver Thread, Million Dollar Highway, Independence Pass, Mt. Evans, Pikes Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park, San Juan Loop. Somewhere around 250-300 miles per day.

We would like to see how much interest there is before we go to the work of finding lodging, getting rates, deciding routes, etc.

This ride will be very informal with people encouraged to ride their own ride, do their own thing and then share experiences at the end of the day at a common lodging location. It is NOT a "joined at the hip" group ride where everyone is expected to stick together all the time.

Bill ,Enjoyed The ride a few years back, would be interested in doing the peaks. Got plenty of notice , A few of us Tucson riders would be there. Tried like heck to make the ride this year. I think Joe and Matt ditched us.lol

I'll check with Al and see if we can get a date established.

A date of August 10-17 has been set for the HD Forums Green Chili Run. This ride will be a trip over all the 10,000 + passes in Colorado that are paved. There are 22 of them, and there will also be a ride to the top of Mt. Evans (Highest paved road in US) and Pike's Peak. We call it "Haul *** For The Pass".

We have done this ride before and it is a challenge as well as being one of the most scenic and fun rides anyone could take.

I am going to have Terry pin this in the Southwest area.

I would like for people that think they might go to start letting me know so I can start planning for lodging.

Sounds good. I'll have info on routes, lodging, etc. as time gets a little closer.

Sounds like I may ride through Sturgis on my way from Ohio.
Still need to confirm my plans.

Any info on a route or the start point would be great. I hope I can do the entire tour, but will definitely try to join for part.
