I have a 87 sportster 883. I have been looking for the docking hardware for a detachable sissy bar. I am having no luck on the internet,ugh. I would like to find this as I just had the bike painted and want to install the docking hardware when I put on the rear fender. Thanks a lot, John

 

For an 87? I don't think anyone makes it.
What you can do is get a later model year and try to make it work by modification, I've seen 94 kits on ebay for about $40.00

 

Thanks Dave. I called several big aftermarket companies yesterday and your right. No one seems to make them. Why is beyond me but oh we'll, their suggestion was to get the bolt on side plates and just remove the sissy bar uprights from the side plates. Kinda an odd fix to others like me to do it that way. Another problem if I go with the later year docking hardware then I wouldn't have the right side plates to go around the turn signal stem.
I did see a thread show me your sissy bars I believe on this forum where a guy had my style fender struts on a later year bike and used another models hardware. I'll look that up again and look into that and send him a pm if he is still active on the board. Thanks again, john
