Default Saddlebags

Ok so I have a 14 883 superlow and am looking at getting some saddlebags as I do not like to wear a backpack while I ride. I reall like Harley's hard saddlebags but can't stomach the almost 2 grand they cost. I am looking to get something similar to those. Don't like the look of the leather bags with the buckles as it is not my style. I guess the question here is where can I find some decent priced bags.

I think the ones with the buckles look pretty good on my superlow. Harley has others as well.

Leatherlyke
Hard, lockable. You can get them plain, without studs and conchos. I'm not sure why the fitment only goes from 2004-2010, unless they haven't up-dated their web site. I can't think of anything that changed on the frame/fender struts in 2011.
Try to see a set in person. Some people don't care for the fake, molded-plastic leather. My Uncle has a set and loves 'em. I prefer real leather and buckles, but sometimes solid and lockable sounds appealing.

What is your budget? I went for Wittco hard bags made with high quality fiberglass and painted and mounted them myself. Overall they costed me around $450 ($395 shipped to door and roughly $50 for painting supplies).

+ 1 on the LeatherLykes. Quick on & off.
Also Mutazu.com has a large inexpensive set of hard bags

Not sure how much stuff you're packing but I got the detachable sissy bar from HD and strap my backpack to the sissy bar when I need to carry a pack and remove the sissy bar when I don't. Much cheaper solution unless you just want saddle bags.

When I wanted bags, I found a used pair for $200, got some Easy Brackets to make them quick detachable. I had to use the turn signal relocation kit from HD though (about $100 I think).

What I didn't like with that setup is that they stick out a bit with the brackets.

Being an avid browser of used gear, awhile ago I found a pair of HD locking hard bags locally for $230. A few nicks and scratches, but man, they are nice bags. They are not quick detach, but that's fine for me.

Auxiliary brackets mounted to the side plates of a detachable sissy bar or solo rack would give you the option to ride with sissy bar, saddlebags or both. This guy was selling this rack system out of Europe, but Harley's sissy bar side plates would work as well. You could add a luggage rack to the back of the sissy bar/saddle bag arrangement and have some serious hauling capacity:
