Yeah I would be running a solo seat once I decide on what I am going to do. I was just wondering if it would be bouncing around everywhere, but HERE said its the same stuff major companies use, so I'm guessing it will be pretty good.

HERE can you post pics and let me know how the quality looks when your get it?

Yea I will, it'll be a while though. It's coming from China so shipping shows it'll be in in 15-25 days.

I'll comment on its quality when it shows up. Who knows, could be garbage, could be great.

There's no doubt that metal is better then plastic, but as HERE said, most of the plastic "crap" is made in china.

Also plastic is cheaper then metal fenders, so since I'm trying to do things on a budget, I was thinking the plastic on may work. Plus I really like to look of it over just a regular chopped fender.

Also thinking about getting a 48 front fender and mounting it as my rear...anyone done that before? Would love to see pics

Does anyone know what the best DIY paint is to get it as close to the Black Denim as possible?

It's plastic and it will flex. So paint might not work. In time or maybe right away it will crack. Try maybe plasti dip. It's a rubber paint. They have a flat black rattle can. Cars, trucks and bikes get painted by that stuff with good results.

After all you said you're doing it on a budget and a can of that is $5 bucks

Yeah I was thinking about plasti dipping it....never done it but looks super easy. I'm guessing the flat black dip will be pretty close to the Black denim?

Also the fender says it fits up to 03. Whats different about 04-ups compared to 03-earlier? Is it just the seat mounting holes are in different locations, or are the strut holes as well?

Would it work with a 48/72 solo seat?

If it's ABS, and legit ABS, not just thinly layered black plastic being passed off as ABS(it is from China afterall) then I'd say paint away. As long as you don't put someone sitting on it or don't hit it with anything you'll be fine. It's good stuff and made to take an impact and rebound just fine. Main reason HD(as well as aftermarket companies) make bags out of ABS instead of fiberglass.

HERE I know you said your not going to put it on your 48, but do you think it will bolt up to it and be able to use your stock seat? It says its for a 03-earlier sportsters.

Also what shocks are you using? Are they a direct bolt on? They have to be more comfortable then the stock ones

When it comes in I'll see about comparing it to see how it'll fit on the 48 and report back.

Shocks in my sig pic were Legend Air Ride shocks. I no longer have them and am back to running stock shocks. They rode better than stock but are no where near worth thier price new at about $1600. All direct bolt on, wiring harness, compressor, air lines, etc.
