Looking for decals

You have several options. Most recent decals are available as spare parts from your local friendly Harley dealer and there are probably hundreds of options available. Some recent bikes however have the design added by machine and are not available as a decal, however there are shops who can imitate designs, even create one just for you.

Just about any sign shop and some auto body repair shops can make custom vinyl decals or make stick-on/removable stencils for painting. If you go the stencil route and plan on painting the tank yourself, get extra stencils and practice on a piece of scrap. I thought the Iron and Nightster had a silk screened tank emblem (not a decal), but I could be wrong on that.

Here is what I did. When I was at the mall recently there was a T-shirt kiosk that advertised they could do custom printing on shirts. I asked if they could custom print decals and he said yes. So I described what I wanted and confused the heck out of him so I had him search on google until I showed him what I wanted. He printed it the exact size and font I wanted for $15.00. If it's on google images they can copy it.

I have had it on for most of the summer and no cracking or peeling looks like the day I put it on. It's the same vinyl they use for advertising on vehicles. I still can't post a pic or I would show what I did. My decal is on my oil tank and that stays around 200+ degrees when I ride and that's everyday.

Make your own. I had something in mind for my tank that I knew I would not be able to find so I made my own. I found the font I had in mind and and colored it the way I wanted on my computer. I wanted water slide decals so I found the paper on line. Then all I had to do was take it to Staples on a flash drive to have it printed in color. I wanted water slide because it's about as thick as a c_ _ t hair. Water slide decals are harder to work with but worth it. If you have ever built a model car or plane you are familiar with how to put them on. Once it is on you will need to spray it with a clear coat to protect it. They look close to painted lettering without the cost. Each decal probably ran me about 2 bucks each or less.
