Default detachable sissybar and bags

I want to use a detachable sissybar with saddlebag supports. HD states it's supports do not work with detachable sissybars and other supports look the same as Harleys. Anyone have luck with the combination? Thanks

It won't work with the bolts they supply with the docking kit but a trip to the hardware store for some longer bolts will make it work.
Measure the supports to see how much longer the bolts need to be, check the length of the bolts from the docking kit and add the numbers. Get bolts of that length. If you can't get that length then get longer ones and cut. That's what I did on mine.

Not knowing what you own already , here's a couple options.

I have no experience with these , but a buddy had the easy brackets , and they work with a Harley detachable sissy bar setup.

The nice thing about these is you can run one or the other or both easily.
Just a thought.

Thanks Mick and trmac. I have the HD attachment mounts for the solo rack/one piece sissy bar and am looking to add some bolt on leather bags with supports. Easy brackets have some pluses, but they stick out a lot. I imagine it will come done to getting the right length bolts.

The Easy Brackets do stick out some. With your setup, the bracket is 1 3/4 inch deep. If you have any questions, let me know. And if you do decide to go with them, we offer 10% off to forum members.
