It won't work with the bolts they supply with the docking kit but a trip to the hardware store for some longer bolts will make it work.
Measure the supports to see how much longer the bolts need to be, check the length of the bolts from the docking kit and add the numbers. Get bolts of that length. If you can't get that length then get longer ones and cut. That's what I did on mine.

Not knowing what you own already , here's a couple options.

I have no experience with these , but a buddy had the easy brackets , and they work with a Harley detachable sissy bar setup.

The nice thing about these is you can run one or the other or both easily.
