900 miles already
Little under a month and I'm almost ready for the 1K service. Lots of miles with lots of good people in a short amount of time.

I've had my Sportster for 3 months and am at 2K miles. I noticed between 1500 and 2000 miles it seems to run a lot better.

I really saw a difference at around 750 miles. That or maybe i just get on it a little more after the break in period.

I'm at just over 1,550 since buying my HD in June, almost time to put it away for the winter. It seems to be settling down, not as touchy on the throttle and the vibrations are settling in. I read somewhere on this forum that it's not really broken in until around 15,000 miles or so, I hope that's true.
