Hi Chris,

Really nice job with your bike! It's my first time in the Sportster section (I usually lurk in the Touring section), and I was very pleasantly surprised to have come across your post.

I hope to see you on the road sometimes.

Cheers.

Chris,
Do you have a link to your front slammers?
I'm about to order rears but want to order fronts at the same time.

His plan wasn't to raise the back & "lower" the front, it's actually not lower in the front. He bought a Burly slammer kit to lower the whole bike. Then he got grief on forums for lowering a "cafe" bike so he then raised he back using Burly "cafe" shocks. The Burly slammer fork spring doesn't actually lower an Iron or a Nightster because they come factory with the Harley lowering springs. The front of his bike is the same height as it started.

Here is a picture of my bike I just picked up.
Don't mind the forward Controls, I do have rear sets waiting to go on.
I do want a proper Cafe stance, which this isn't.
What do you guys recommend?
Bike is in storage, do haven't measured the rear, but you can see its loooow.

Chris, sorry for hijacking, I just love your stance and want the same for mine.

I changed the shocks from the slammer kit to the stilettos because one I did the research to find the handling would be better and two because after finally getting the tins back from paint and having the bike jacked up I noticed how much better it looked. With the latter being more of a concern for me than the former. I wanted the bike to look good to me. I couldn't care less about the "grief" some forum lurkers gave me.

Anyway to answer your question. He is right. I bought the whole kit then later switched the rears. I think you can still buy the fork spring inserts on their sight. And yes the do lower the front if you cut the spacers.

So your front is still lowered? If so, how much lower and you added 13" rears?
I just want my stance like yours.

Thanks for the comments but I am pretty sure that a café doesn't HAVE to have any of that.

I say that because my bike IS Café and does not...
