Bought this Bike back in 07 did alot of mods just never painted her motor after years of lurking and soaking in all the advice I pulled the trigger.

Dupilcolor semi gloss High heat Black
Repainted air cleaner (not shown)
Heat shields added a little spikey Bling bling to em while i was at it.

My heat shields were powder coated black to begin with but in the seven years I had them they had seen better days. Now to answer your question they were the easiest thing no masking just a light sanding with a scotch brite pad and 1200 grit paper where the rust was forming.

Looks sweet. I would like to paint the aluminum 883 I have.

So you painted the blocks and the fins w/the Dupilcolor? How is it holding up after ,,,

Thanks,
Jim

Looks good nightstermass!

I painted the aluminum cases on my 883 a bit over a year ago. I did good prep work, and used high heat primer and paint.

See details at this link-

I am happy with it 10k miles later. Although it is not as strong as powder coat and has a couple of chips in it, overall it is still looking good and was much easier and less expensive than removing for powder.
