Default Dyna battery in a sportster??

Hello, my 1993 Sportster sat a little too long, and the old battery has died and wont take a charge. I have a battery from a dyna in my garage that a friend no longer wants, can I use this battery?

It is the exact same size as my sportster battery and from what I can tell most aftermarket sportster batteries have more CCA than this dyna battery (315). Please let me know if this is a terrible idea or if others are running dyna batteries in their sportsters?

If your bike is the same, battery wise as a 2007, the battery terminals on the Dyna battery will be on the opposite sides.

That's right, almost everything is reverse from Sporty to Dyna.

I got another question 1200, do you by change know where the turn signal breaker/fuse (not sure which it is) on my 1993 sportster? The turn signal's light up, but wont "blink".

If that battery fits you'll be fine! As for your flashers, I don't think your bike has any fuses, only circuit breakers. They heat up and cut out if the circuit heats up due to a short or overload, but reset when cooled down. It's more likely your flasher unit is defective, or there is an electrical fault. Check the wiring for the flashers and flasher unit.

I've heard the turn signal module is mounted near the oil tank, and I've heard it's possibly found inside the headlight housing as well. Good luck.
