wanted to share this photo, before I bought a chrome belt guard I tried painting my stock one to match the bike, I thought it was a bit much, the side covers were a great addition though,,

LOL...Just showed the pic to the OL and right off the bat she said it was great looking bike, but the chain guard was too much! I like it though!

Thanks for sharing. I've got to paint my front fender soon. I didn't think about the chain guard until your post. My side covers already match. I was thinking earlier about painting the air cleaner to match though. More food (and pics, and commentary) for thought.

Looks fine to me, well done. Give it time before you change the colour of the chainguard.

Doesn't look that bad. Another member painted his (more bluish gray IIRC) and it looked pretty unique.

Drill some speed holes in the guard, add a pin-stripe and/or remove the lower radius (or paint it black). A cheap take-off or Ebay headlight shell, painted blue, might look cool.

I think it would look good painted black to hide it a little or...take it off.

Love the look of the side covers matching the other paint and could never figure out why HD doesn't do that in the first place. There was a time when most bikes came with matching paint on the side covers.

I do think, IMHO, that the belt guard does look a little out of place with the matching cover though. I think it should be either black like the frame or chrome. Mine is chrome and I like it.

On the vivid black Custom they all match!

I did remove my upper belt guard though. I agree with you on the non black bikes though. Seems to make more sense that they would match the side covers with the other tins.
