Default Rear Exhaust BRacket....Necessary?

I Recently was looking into getting a Figure Machine front sprocket cover and the transparent housing that comes with it. I found out that if i do decide to do this - I will have to forego use of the rear, Upper bracket (this currently holds the upper portion of the exhaust in place and is connected thru the stock sprocket cover.

Any one here with experience of "deleting" this bracket? I figure that the bottom connector pipe holds the exhaust in place anyways right?
