Yes and no. They didn't bend, but rotated inside the clamp. The exhaust is scratched up, but the heatshields are off right now for paint anyway, so the dent in the tank is the only substantial damage.

Thanks, y'all! I have had big plans in mind for a while, but this isn't exactly how I wanted to kick it off. Other than just being an eyesore everything seems to still be functional, but the ugly-factor will be a good motivator to get rolling with the revamp.

How do those shocks compare to the stock shocks because when I switched to the shorter shocks the bike stood really upright. That could contribute. I'm back on the 13.5's now.

How about getting one of those 'bullet' decals for the tank dent? You could make up an excellent get-away story...


As mentioned, at least it landed in the grass.

 

That sucks! Probably not enough damage after deductible to get insurance to help you out with the mods you already had in mind.
