I just use my iPhone now days. Used a 35mm for years & bought a DSLR but never really liked it like the 35mm.

Main thing I do on the iPhone is lock the exposure pointing it in a different direction.

Not bikes but here are some picks I took 3 years ago at an event with 35mm B/W film. These are right off the CD from getting them developed, the B/W film just gives a nice old look that can't be reproduced well with filters.

Does it have to be a Sportster in the photo or can it be any model?

Thanks Sid but not mine it was just an example to get the thread started. I can tell you though that long exposure time, like 1/60 or so, was used on a tripod that is a must when doing so. Also it appears that the edges were darkened a little bit in Photoshop or similar software.

elfnyc,

The last two images are great shots( or the last two before your sig photo?)
If you could remove the chair and the table from the image it would be even better.

That f2.8 lens is wonderful. I like how it has softened the background and how the bike has entered the frame at exact diagonal angle.

Haha of course not. This is about photography of bikes, even cars or anything that can show the technique used and applicable to bikes.

I really like the way this one turned out, except for that road closed sign in the background.

This is another person favorite. Just a random shot that turned out pretty good.
