If I look down (which I don't want to do), then it goes over the helmet. Now I am thinking 10" flared....good thing I found an international supplier that sell them for $28 shipped.
This is the one I used

I am also thinking of a 10" for any distance riding

Might just throw one of these on for the money

Thanks for the info. I actually just ordered a 9 1/2" flared ($24 shipped) and hoping it works to properly deflect wind over my helmet and still see over the windshield.

Smoke Black 9 1/2" Wave Windshield Windscreen for Harley FLHT FLHTC FLHX Touring
This is the one I ordered. I initially ordered the one on ebay first but this one (same supplier) was cheaper and faster shipping (go figure). It says $28.99 but when I checked out it applied a $5.80 promo discount = $23.19. Keep in mind this is smoke black.

Here are other options at similar prices points on ebay.

Also considered this one when researching. A little more but price was still reasonable.

Hope that helps

btw I also ordered a 10" smoked windshield from J&P....still should be able to see over the shield but got a smoked polycarbonate (not ABS Plastic) just in case the smoke black hinders my lower view and I need to see through the windshield. Price is still reasonable.

I think it's good to have options when it comes to screens.
Helmet type seems to effect the turbulence
For short distances it doesn't matter too much and an average days rising for me at the weekend could be 100-150 miles
Am preparing for a tour in June and doing 2000 that week so need something that I can throw on and get the benefit for the week and then remove when I get back.
Ordered the same one as you from Amazon
