Default Spark plug wire replacement

I have a 2009 1200C and am trying to figure out how to get the back cylinder's spark plug wire loose from that little plastic thing that is right up under the tank and kind of above the spark plug. I am putting on SE plug wires and can't figure out how to get the original spark plug wire out of that little plastic harness.....any answers out there....thanks.

It isn't a plastic tie...it is some kind of plastic harness, not sure exactly what it is, but I have messed with it and can't get it loose. I will not be able to use it again, since the SE plug wires are a lot thicker than the original wires. I am sure that harness is there to keep the plug wire from flopping around. It is very tight around the original plug wire.

It is a kind of zip tie, but with a built-in push-plug fastener.

You will have to cut it. Cut the small band that wraps the plug wire.

Your dealer will sell you a new one for about $1. They may give it to you.

Once you cut it, you'll quickly see how it works. Installing s be one takes 3 seconds.

the plug wire is coming into the picture on the lower 3rd of the picture and the harness is right about the cylinder head.

Here is as good as a picture of it that I can take.....the plug wire comes from the right of the picture and you have a view of the little plastic harness...but not the wrap that goes around wire..... it seems to me you are saying once I cut the wrap the pieces will fall away from the harness...is that correct?

Yes, mostly.

This is how it happens.
1. Cut the part that wraps around the plug wire. It is the same width and thickness as a standard zip tie.
2. Pull the plug wire away from the clamp.
3. Fiddle with the cut zip tie to push it out of the hole in the clamp. You may have to cut the zip tie a bit more to get it out of the clamp. Mine just fell out after I cut the zip tie (I just did it yesterday, but my plug wire isn't routed there anymore so I'm not reusing this connection. )

Trust me, once you cut the zip tie and remove the plug wire, you'll see how it's put together.

Yes, but the cleanest method is to get one of the push-pin type zip ties like the picture I posted above. Your dealer has them.
