make sure you run the engine for at least 5 minutes before draining the engine oil. You wanna make sure any sumped oil is pumped back into the tank else you risk over filling.

I ride a 91 1200. It takes 3 quarts of oil in the motor and one in the primary. In the motor I use the 20 50 for v twin mobile from Wal-Mart in the primary I use 20 50 Screaming Eagle Harley oil I get that from the local Harley shop. And like already said do it after you let the engine warm. I usally ride the bike to buy the fluids and change it when I get home.

Hey Gary,

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your new ride.

I recommend getting a manual...yeah parts are more fun to spend $ on, but a manual is important to have & follow.

You don't want to end up with too much oil in either of the holes...which is very easy to do.

And then there will be dozens of other things you will want to look up in the manual as you get to know your ride.

Welcome to the Forum lots of really good information here. Lots of great guys and one old grouch
Yep, I bought a Clymers service manual from e-bay for around 30.00 and free shipping, sure helps a lot if you have a problem, or just sitting on the john and having something to read
Get a picture of your scooter up, we all like pictures.
Ride Safe.
