Default Headlight differences between a 2000 and a 2004 sportster

Hi, I just wanted to see if anyone could help me. I'm looking to buy a grill for my headlight on my 2000 883 sportster, but the only ones I can find are for a 2004 model upwards. I'd like to know what the differences are between these headlight, and if that grill would fit.

Thanks!

Good question ... maybe it's the size?
My 02 has a 5 3/4".

Thanks for the reply. The 2004+ ones I've found are 5 3/4" also, so the size is fine. I'm just not sure if there are different fittings for each model or not.

the 2004 and up have the eyelids... So it will be different in the way it mounts. Had to find that out when I ordered my headlight fairing. I had to custom bend the bracket it came with and add my own extension brackets to make it fit.

Lots of Harleys have an eyebrow. FX Shovels, FXR, Sportsters, Dynas. The shape of the eye brow changed a little on the recent Sportster Custom models, but how the headlight is suspended shouldn't have anything to do with covering the front of the headlight. I'm not certain, it's only a guess, but the shape/radius (not the diameter, which is 5.75") of the headlight lens on '03-older may be incompatible.
