Default coker tires and speedo problem

I switched out my stock tires for cokers and now my speedometer is off. I got the bike new at the end of the season so ive only done about 300-350 miles and it reads 2500, and the mph is off. last time I went out on the highway,I thought I was doing 60mph and my buddy said we were pulling 80mph the whole way. lucky I wasn't pulled over. is this an easy fix? or do I have to bring it to the dealer and have them fix it?

So it reads over 2000 miles shy? Youve got something else wrong. Mine is about 5MPH off

Agreed ... that can't be due to a new tire with similar diameter.

What was your buddy riding and was the speed confirmed by a GPS?
Metrics especially are known for being 10-12% optimistic. You could always install a SpeedoHealer http://www.healtech-electronics.com/products/sh/

New bike? If under warranty I'd take it to the dealer.

coker tires are taller so that means a larger circumference, so they will throw your speedo off by a percentage (you will be going faster than the speedo says)...it can be adjusted with the speedo healer above or you can do a search for other ones... and I am just assuming you meant 250 miles not 2500...

the bike is snowed in, but I'll make a path to my garage and check the exact mileage. it was in the 2000 mile range not 250. if it was 250 I wouldn't have even noticed it was off

Can't speak for the T100, but I owned a Triumph Sprint and the speedometer registered 10% fast. Verify your speed with a GPS.

When checking be sure that you are not including the 1/10 or tenth digit.
