What do you guys think of this Sporty?
Hi, currently in the market for a used Sportster to daily so I can keep my old pickup running for really rainy days and weekends to the range to shoot bunker trap. I saw this one on Craigslist and Cycle Trader (same bike) and was wondering if I could get some input: http://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2...83-R-114135373 and http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/mcy/4913114691.html
I texted the guy and hopefully I can check it out some time this week.
I'm fine with either an 883 or 1200 and plan on maybe bobbing and lowering it. Do you think I should try talk him down to around 4k?

That guy is asking less for his '06 than I'm asking for my '02 with 5600 miles.

That is a "R" model which makes it pretty desirable. You may change your mind about bobbing it once you get it and ride it. I had the same plans for mine, but it was too nice, and it rode really really nice, so I just made changes for comfort and safety. Mine had been sitting, so it got new tires, complete service, carb kit, grips etc.
This one you're looking at will most likely need the same with such low mileage. It's been sitting unused too. Might wanna find out why. In my case, the guy bought it for his wife, but she didn't like riding it. So it sat. It had 1500 miles on it when I bought it a little over a year ago

Well, I picked it up. The bike is as-new and the only issue is a tear in the right grip from being knocked against a wall in a garage. So far all I've done is removed the mirror on the throttle side and bought a pretty nice bike cover for it since it'll be out back under the patio. The previous owner already lowered it a bit and had the dealership pull the emissions crap off of it. I think all I'll do is get a license plate bracket, smaller signals, and shorty pipes/re-jet.
