Default Wierd , Alarm light ..

Hey guys just got back from a 850 Km road trip . Well every time i pass a military base here my ALARM light goes on , nobody needs a red light popping up . Has anyone had a similar experience ? it usually goes off after about 4 or 5 kms .
Wondering what is setting it off ?

Could there be some kind of jamming being broadcast that interferes with the signal from your security fob do you think? This is real James Bond stuff here!

Odd. I live on a base with a lot of interference and don't have any problems with my security system or lights coming on. Does it say no fob on your speedo?

What kind of base? Air base?

IFF signals and Air Search Radar tends to cause issues with all kinds of electronics. We were not even permitted to operate our IFF in port unless it was into a dummy load.

VHF radio comms/HF Radio comms will cause squirrelly stuff to happen as well, not as high power as the other stuff but the freq. range will mess with stuff.

Certainly sounds mysterious! However I agree with the others, that there can be all manner of hi-power radiation in the base, for radio, radar etc.

thanks guys , well i think it is VHF and HF interfering with it, i was riding in the middle of nowhere , it suddenly came on ....i quickly looked around and saw a military base hidden away ..other places it goes off in the middle of nowhere and i cannot see any base or soldiers around . yep really wierd ...bu tit does give you a shock to see a red light suddenly pop up ...i am wondering if it is also the police radios here ....
Took me awhile to figure out it only happened near bases ....oh well ....
thanks for your thoughts ..

Just don't shut it off when the light is lit, you might not be able to start it again until you get it out of the area.

If you do find yourself needing to start the bike and its not registering your fob make sure you know your pin and it should be ok.
