Default Been out of the sportster game for a while, how much is she worth?

So I have been out of the sportster realm for years now. I sold my 2006 1200c in 2009, and have not been back since. This past weekend I made a trade that ended with me having a 2008 1200 low as seen in the pics below. Sharp bike, really clean, 19k miles. Has two brand new tires, vance and hines slip ons, a few cosmetic mods, and the black wheels. I do not need it, and my wife refuses to learn to ride it.....so I am going to sell it. What do you guys think I could reasonably get for it? I am in Southern Illinois, I have seen comparable bikes anywhere from 4800-7000 listed, not saying that they are selling for that, thats just list price.

Thanks for your help!

I recently paid $5900 for a very clean 07 Sportster 1200 Low with 15k miles on it after shopping around for some time. If yours is in excellent condition that should give you an idea of the retail market.

I figure Ill put a tag of 5500-6000 on it to start and see what happens. Its getting warm around here and I know there are folks wanting to ride.

touchdown, if thats what they are going for in your area then I'm coming up with a trailer. If I put it up for that much around here, it'd be gone in an hour, I know that for sure.

Thanks for the help guys

I have seen them in my area with a lot less milage for $4,000 to $4,500.
Yours does look very well kept though.
If I were you I'd start at $5,000 and sell for $4,500.

If you clean the bike real good, take the right hi-res pictures and list on Craigslist for $5900 on Friday afternoon, you will sell it for $5500 on the same weekend. A good ad verbiage highlighting all the add-ons and a bit about Sportster reliability is all it takes for these babies.

it is just me or have the sportsters really come down in value? I don't think they hold their value like they used to, the market must be flooded with them.. 3 years ago when I was shopping for them about all you could get for under $4000 was a pre-2004 rigid mount. now ones only a few years old are selling for under $6k..

Here in southern California I think you'd comfortably get $6,500 - $7,000 if it's as clean as it looks.

I wouldn't be surprised... It seems we pay a premium on "toys" here in CA, whether they be bikes or guns or whatever.

I recently picked up a bone-stock '06 883R with 4k miles on it for $4,500; didn't do too bad. I'm sure you could fetch the same if not more for yours.
