Hi peeps, I've just fitted some drag specialites forward controls to my sportster iron but can't work out how to adjust the rod to get gear selector at the right angle/position. The instructions say to adjust the link bar that goes from the selector pedal to the gear change arm however when I loosen the 13mm nuts at each end of the rod and turn it it just spins to the left or right but doesn't seem to move anything? It just freely spins on the threads of the little ball joint bits on the end which then attach to the pedal and gear arm. Am I missing something???

you need to take it off of the bike first (or at least one end off)and the ends turn opposite directions..that is if it the same as my bike...

 

ok, having another look that makes sense, still not had time to road test since fitting as needed some cir clip pliers for foot peg pins, hopefully get out tomorrow and adjust linkage.
