I recently picked up a used set of Plunder Dogs for my 08 Nightster. When I put them on my bike, the right side bag has less than an inch clearance from my exhaust muffler. It's a stock exhaust and I'm worried about ruining the bag since it is so close. Anyone who owns a set have a similar issue? I'd like to try to get the bags a little higher up. I'm thinking of taking them in to an upholstery / leather shop and having them take and inch or two off each side. I'm thinking they won't charge too much for that. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

The strap on mine is actually resting on the exhaust. Doesn't appear to have affected the bag or even the strap. The bags are awesome.

 

Nice. . .I was worried that the heat from the exhaust would melt the leather. Thanks for the pic. How long have they been on your bike?

 

Looks like they've been on there about 2 1/2 years. I bought them used.
