But I did, and I love it.

Thanks! I'm thrilled with it honestly. I installed some low sport bars and plan on 13" rear shocks and longer fork springs. It's a Hugger and I prefer a taller standard riding height. It has new ScreMing Eagle II pipes, but I actually would love some quieter stock ones.

Great bike to work with. Snag a set of stock mufflers and open up the baffles with a 1/2" piece of rebar. That's the set-up I run on mine and it sounds just right.

Great find! It truly is a find. I just scored recently with a pristine 03 883R. My son had one new for a couple of weeks in 03 until a gray hair in a new Buick Park Avenue turned left in front of him. He came out okay but the bike was totaled. The elderly lady never asked him if he was okay. She only said "Oh! My beautiful new Buick."

The dealer is storing it for me in his home garage so it does get dinged until he comes and picks up my Street Bob for a 120R transplant. My plan is to gift it to my son.

I have three other Sportsters and have toured much of the States and Some of Canada with them.

The EVO Sportster engine is close to bullet proof. Over the years HD has improved them like a couple years back when they increase the fin size to cool more and thus get even more life out of the motor. The XR has the oil cooler that feeds the oil around the exhaust valve area to lower head temps even more. HD has the stock XR1200 motor at 90 crank HP. The XL1200T is a super low with great low speed handling with 2 up. It can tour the country as well as any big dresser.
