Just food for thought.
here are a few discussions... as you'll see, there's a debate amongst everyone and they all know better than the other.

So there - read up and make your decision based on the information. I have mobil1 just like the first responder posted... mostly because I think the Syn3 is overpriced and not as high of quality (you're paying for the name)... but to each his own. Some swear by it.
Hows that for a non-answer! HAHA

Hey, another oil thread!
Ok, I'll chime in. Sounds like you are new to HD and bikes in general. I am relatively new myself.
I've changed my own oil and had the dealer do it. My recommendation? Why not use whatever HD recommends for your year bike until you have a good reason to change to something else? I run Syn 3 in my 2011 1200C. If that is also recommended for your 2000, use that in both (again, if recommended for your 2000) holes.''

yes, you will be fine...20w50w is almost the same as 75/90 gear oil...motor oil and gear oil are graded on different scales so the numbers are different...
