Default Sportster Mods so Far

Hi All,

Havent been on here in ages since i sold my Dyna last year.

Finally got myself a bike again picking up a used 883 Custom.

Great little bike.

Here`s the changes i have made so far:
48 Peanut Tank
RSD Gauge and relocator.
Biltwell Zed Bars
RSD Machine Ops Air Cleaner
PM Grips and Pegs
PM Mirrors
RSD Enzo seat
Alloy Art Strut Mount Indicators
Nightster Rims with Shinko Vintage Tyres.
And Finally a 72 Peanut Tank, Gold Flake Colour.

Still got lots planned and want to balance out (eliminate) the chrome more.

Day 1

48 Tank, Home made 1.5" tank lift and Zed Bars

RSD Machine ops Air Cleaner

72 Tank, Nightster rims/vintage tyres, Alloy Art indicators, PM Mirrors.

Looks good man. I would tuck those wires underneath the tank and ditch all that plastic under the tank.

Your bike looks great!

I sold my Dyna last year and am now on an 883 Iron (soon to be a 1250 Iron.)

I'm digging a few things about the change.
More nimbler handling.
Narrower profile.
The Evo motor is just better in my opinion.

Cheers SLV

I remember your bike from the Dyna forum well, really cool bike that one.
It`s weird but i`ve gone from Road Kind - Street Glide - Super Glide Custom to Sportster.

This little bike is the most fun by far, totally agree as i think the motors on these things are incredible.
Has it`s limitations for sure but in general works great.

Nice job. Making some great progress there. I liked the 48 tank better, but that's just my preference.

A few more mods here today as some more gear arrived.

Got the RSD Nostalga headlamp in the machine ops finish, didnt like the look so decided to paint the bucket black, worked out ok.

Also realised that it wouldn't fit my bike so rotated the mounting bracket on the headlamp upside down, and modified the stock mounting block to accept the new light.

Also added the EMD cam cover and mounted my new licence plate, cmc machined the licence plate myself out of some aluminium composite.
Also made a mounting bracket that fits underneath the copped fender brake light.

Still not done yet, want to add beefier firestones all round, have to figure out the best fix to get a 16" wheel on the front with a 500/16 Firestone on there.
Might have to do a mid glide conversion, any suggestions out there?

Painting the headlamp

Modified mounting Block

Bike as it sits now

Cheers mate.

I agree, i might whack the 48 tank back on there later this week and have another look.

In an ideal world it`d be great to have each tank mounted with a fuel pump and just switch them out whenever, had better decide one one or the other and stick to it

Its a nice addition i think, pretty happy with it so far.
Only issue was having to fabricate a bracket for it, but that didnt take too long.

Getting there with the bike slowly, added some drag bars.
