Default free motorcycle training from HD for veterans

The new “Learn to Ride” program, open to active-duty, retired, reservists and veterans, begins on Armed Forces Day, May 16 and runs through Sept. 13. *

Default Love it!!

I am a Riding academy instructor and this past weekend I had 3 of my 8 students using this program to take my class. What a GREAT thing for the MOCO to do for our Vets! Another link, https://ridefree.harley-davidson.com...rylearntoride/

I am looking at buying a 2014 Iron next month and this seems perfect to do. If Im understanding this right you can take this class and take the cert in to DMV and get your license? Also how long is the class ect? I work on the road a lot so I looking at how to swing it.

I know this thread is a few weeks old but I thought I'd try to answer your questions. The licensing requirements depend on your state. In TX once you complete the course you are exempt from both the riding and the written test. You just take your certificate to the DMV and pay your money for the endorsement.

Typically the classroom portion of the course is 2 evenings, Thursday & Friday 6-9, Saturday morning on the range and then complete any classroom sections followed by the written test. Sunday is the remaining range exercises and the riding test.

Ride Safe!
