80423-04 is the # for a pair of Slash down, Screamin' Eagle II slip-on mufflers.
80424-04 is the # for a pair of Balony Cut (slash out) slip-ons.
Did they make the SE II in black for 04-13? I'm looking for those, can't seem to find the part number.
And whats the deal with the aftermarket replicas of the SEII? One of those Wyatt ones and some Cycle Shack ones look similar. But i've heard people saying those Cycle Shack ones will drill out your eardrums on a long ride.

I've been on bikes with lots of other pipes and the SEII's sound great without making me deaf. Perfect balance of performance, sound and practicality, IMHO.

My 03 Roadster has the SEII mufflers, but like all the other SE II's that I have seen only one muffler is stamped SEII.

I have the original take off two into one 03 take off's from it. Plan to have them reinstalled. I like the look better.

In a nut-shell, no black SE II slip-ons for '04 up.
I looked at my hard-copy of both the 2005 & 2006 Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories Catalogs this evening. No black SE II slip-ons for the '04 up Sportsters. The '05 & '06 catalogs do not show the SE II slip-ons, in any form (neither in chrome nor black). From what I can ascertain, the SE II mufflers (for '04 and up Sportsters) were only offered in the '04 P&A Catalog. There are Sportster slip-ons in the '05/'06 catalogs, but they're in the middle of the road/limbo zone between the '04 SE II and the '07 up Street Performance offerings. The slip-ons in the '05 and '06 catalogs have "Harley Davidson" stamped on one muffler. That's why I thought the Street Performance slip-ons had "Harley Davidson" on them, as opposed to "Screamin' Eagle". (see quote from previous post, below). In '06, they offered a 50-state legal "catalyst" slip-on, encompassing the California bikes. Also in '06, the 49-state limbo version from '05 was offered. In '07, only the Street Performance units were offered, IIRC.

No big deal either way. Very good info. Thanks.

Great info, thank you. Confusing, still.. Anyway.. Might be going with the Vance and Hines slip ons, as I'm told they have a similar sound/performance as the SEII and the blacked out look i'm going for.

Another SEII Question.. Do we know what the baffles in these are made out of? Are they fiberglass or another material?

Send me a PM man with a photo if you could. And I'm asking about the baffle because a coater told me they couldnt coat anything with fiberglass baffles. I guess that stuff will melt in there. So if its just metal and insulation-like material, I'm good...
