Cool Tranny Rebuild Time

As the title implies I'm rebuilding the transmission.

Over the course of my bikes life we have had our ups and downs now its transmission rebuild time. Too many miles, or what ever but the transmission now has major noise and must be opened. 150,000 KM or @ 95,000 MI.

Anyone who has seen videos on this, please apply links to this thread below. Tips and tricks, do's and don't, etc are appreciated.

I am not afraid to embark on this and I have heavy shop experience but that was some time ago, before YouTube etc (got the manual etc for those guys).

Cheers to all.

.

With 95,000 miles on the motor and since you're going to have to do a complete motor tear-down and split the cases, you might as well refresh the top end with a 1250 kit while you're at it. That's what I did when I lost 4th gear.

If all things were equal I would but I live in the part of the world where everything is 3X normal prices, I will hone & ring the jugs but nothing fancy, there is no budget.

Got any tips for the tear down?

For this kind of a job, go where the heavy hitters hang out, you're already a member there.
