StreetGlideSpecial: Man you really cut a hell of a deal getting a Harley 90 years in the future! I didn't think Harley thought that far in advance. Is it matter/anti-matter or ion powered? Kidding.
Forward controls? I recently installed HD forward controls on my XL1200T and know you need to be prepared to buy the correct foot pegs made for the forward controls, or grind down the foot peg tang that is longer to fit your existing foot pegs/mini-floor boards.
After installing the forward controls, I also tried using the original mini-floor boards but they were pointing slightly downward on the front edge. That's why I went with round pegs.
I changed controls because the further forward mid controls that came with the bike made me lift my entire foot to shift. I could not adjust the lever because the shift lever spleen had coarse teeth which made the shift lever adjustment either too high or too low.
I love the forward controls and feel that's how a Harley should be ridden. Bumps? You can still stand up on your pegs, just make sure your bars are tightly clamped!

I got all excited there thinking I finally got a killer deal on a Harley
Darn fingers just got out of order is all LOL
I am hoping everything she wanted and planned will work well for her:
- Chrome Forward Control Kit With Black Footpeg Support Brackets 50700020
- Chrome and Rubber Custom Footpegs-50500-03
- Chrome and Rubber Hand Grips-56263-96A
Going to team them up along with
- Adjustable Passenger Footpeg Mount Kit-50763-09
So sounds as though we may have to keep our fingers crossed on the choice of forward pegs as they aren't round but not a floorboard either.
As much as I hate to say it and pay it, it won't be the first mistake purchase I've made. I guess worse comes to worse we will have the old rear pegs to use up front until we can find what she likes. Bummed as she tried to match the pegs and grips. Oh well, the best laid plans.

Nice bike and color. Tell your wife she has good taste. I like how the "Harley Davidson" is also in blue.
Of course you know that one of the first purchases she should make is to replace those short stem mirrors. They are worthless as you cannot see directly behind you. I picked up long stem tapered Harley mirrors just like the stock ones (#91846-03B and 91848-03b) at kuttlerharleyonline.com for $33 a piece and they work fine.
I then went accessory crazy and dumped a little over $2,000 into my bike in 2 1/2 months (my wife has no idea).
I wonder if women spend allot of money on accessories for their bikes like guys? For those who can't hide money, I bet it is easier for wives to get permission from their husbands to buy expensive accessories than for husbands to get permission from their wives.
For me, for now, and for my wife's sake, I believe that "ignorance is bliss." I just hope I don't get busted if my wife starts reading hdforum.com!
